  • An extensive refurbishment of an historic building in the centre of Paris, transforming the hotel from a 4 star rating to an exclusive 5 star rating while maintaining the character of the original building.
  • Major structural alterations were required, together with a total refurbishment and a basement extension. This, combined with a central Paris location and an 18-month programme, made the project a unique challenge.
  • Faithful+Gould was appointed as project and cost managers for the 80 million Euro project.

The approach

  • Extensive local knowledge was required, due to the project's location. Faithful+Gould therefore partnered the project with our French affiliate.
  • British and French managers were based in Paris for the project.
  • Detail design was undertaken early in the project to allow for major structural alterations to be carried out in conjunction with strip out and refurbishment works.


Outcome

  • A benchmark hotel was completed to a very high standard providing luxury accommodation, conferencing and business facilities in the heart of Paris.
  • The equivalent of 5 star status was achieved.
  • The original ambience of the building was maintained, but the new facilities are state of the art.
