Faithful+Gould was appointed by Wyeth Medica Ireland as project controls manager for a major expansion of its Kildare manufacturing division.

The original budget for the project was €220m (the original budget was not prepared by Faithful+Gould). The budget was then revised to €300m.

The project involved:

• Construction of a 3 storey building for manufacturing, and an associated central utilities building
• Construction of an electricity substation and new main power feed
• Construction of a cold store, a major pipe bridge and utilities yard
• Major civil engineering works, including a new road system and car parks

• Procurement consultancy for the main construction contract
• Quantity surveying services
• Preparing contracts and cost analysis of subcontracts
• Preparing and monitoring construction schedules
• Compiling project cost reports for the project including construction, automation, design, construction management, equipment, pre-operating, validation and project indirects
• Full cost engineering services, agreement of final accounts and post construction cost control services
• Consultancy in value engineering
