The Dubai Mall, Downtown Burj Dubai

Dubai Mall currently forms the largest mall in the world and is located in the prestigious Downtown Burj Dubai area developed by Emaar.

Faithful+Gould was appointed by Dutco Balfour Beatty and Partners (DBB) to manage the complete task of capturing, organising and presenting asset data for the entire mall development.

Faithful+Gould, in association with DBB, developed frameworks for data capture and used these frameworks when liaising with sub contractors and suppliers.

The vast amount of information captured was provided to DBB which in turn ensured Emaar were able to manage their assets in terms of:

  • Facilities management strategy
  • Depreciation calculations
  • Maintenance management planning
  • Categorisation of core assets
  • Life cycle replacement fund calculations


The approach

To work with numerous subcontractors and suppliers to obtain asset data for the entire mall. The information was then collated and analysed.


Outcome

  • Competed in 2008.
  • Provision of a gap analysis report outlining where further work is required.
  • Provision of a collated asset register ready for downloading into the operator's Asset Management System (AMS).
