  • Andy won the best innovation award at the QS Awards in 2007. He was also presented with an Exceptional Contribution Award for his work in promoting whole life value procurement by Sir Michael Latham in 2007.

Andy is Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) by profession and also an Affiliate member the CIBSE and MBIFM and also a Chartered Arbitrator.

He has over 33 years of practical experience working on many major projects, from cradle to operation and beyond. He has pioneered award winning approaches to strategic asset management and business focused maintenance of large portfolios of properties and facilities.

Andy has been actively working on the standardisation of life cycle costing and was the UK representative and assistant convenor of the BSI's technical working group which produced the BS ISO 15686 part 5 life cycle costing - which was published in July 2008. He also was the co-author and chairman of the technical working group which produced the UK supplement to the ISO, the Standard Method of Life Cycle Costing in Construction Procurement (SMLCC) - jointed published by BSI and BCIS in July 2008.

Andy co-authored the DTI sponsored Guide to Achieving Whole Life Value in buildings and infrastructure - published by BRE bookshop 478.

He is currently chairing the RICS technical working group producing the new rules of measurement (NRM 3) for maintenance and the BS 8544 Guide on Life Cycle Costing of Maintenance - which are scheduled to be published in Q3 2011.
