Application Process
We have graduate opportunities across our Project Management, Building Surveying and Quantity Surveying disciplines throughout the UK.
To find out more details on available opportunities and locations and to apply, click on the Search Our Jobs button and select Graduates from the Career Discipline drop down box.
The relevant vacancies will then be displayed and you can view the job descriptions and continue to the application form.
Please check the individual job descriptions for further information about the business area and requirements.
We recommend you submit your application as soon as possible as we actively screen and assess candidates as they apply.
On-Line Application:
When you make an application you will be asked to upload your CV and fill in an application form.
You will have a login and password so you can save your progress and return to complete it later, we give you 14 days to complete your application from the day you start it. If you don't complete your application within this time your application will be withdrawn.
Candidates may only complete one application form per recruitment cycle - any subsequent application forms will be automatically identified by our recruitment system and will not be progressed.
Psychometric Tests:
Once you have submitted your application you will then be invited to complete numerical and verbal on-line tests. These will take 20 minutes and 18 minutes respectively. You can complete these tests at a time to suit yourself but we do give you 10 days to complete the tests from the day you are sent the link, after which your application will be withdrawn. Do keep an eye on your e-mail/account once you have submitted your application to ensure you do not miss out.
Testing Tips:
- You will have the option of completing practice questions for each test which we would strongly encourage you to do. The practice test will help you to prepare for the real test by familiarising you with the format of the questions and how to answer them.
- Make sure you set a time when you are free from distractions. It is unlikely we will be able to let you retake the tests if you have been distracted by your mobile phone for example.
Telephone Interview:
If your application is successful after being reviewed, you will be invited to take part in a telephone interview. This will be with a member of our Graduate Recruitment Team and will typically last 15 -20 minutes. As with your tests, you will be invited to your telephone interview by email and you will be asked to book a convenient slot via our graduate website. The telephone interview will explore key skills and behaviours that we believe are important.
Graduate Assessment Centre:
If you are invited to attend an assessment centre, as with your telephone interview you will be invited by email and asked to book a slot via your Faithful+Gould account.
We would like to emphasise that our assessment centres are very much a two way process. Obviously we will be assessing you for a role with us, but it's also a key opportunity for you to consider whether Faithful+Gould is the right place for you.
Location
The assessment centres for Faithful+Gould will be held in regional offices in early 2012.
Timings
Assessment centres usually take place between 9am-4pm and as well the assessments you will also meet some of our graduates and managers from the business. We'll also make sure you are fed and have access to plenty of tea and coffee!
What to expect
The assessments will include a technical interview with one or two managers from the relevant business area. There will also be a number of behavioural exercises which have been designed to assess the competencies we look for in our graduates.
Travel/ Accommodation/ Expenses
If you are travelling from far afield and need accommodation or flights, our graduate team will arrange these for you. On the day you will be given an expense form so you can claim other reasonable expenses occurred, so please keep your receipts.
Decisions
We will let you know the outcome of your assessment centre as soon as possible, and before you leave we will give you a timeframe so you know when to expect to hear from us. When decisions have been made, we will contact you by phone to give you feedback on your performance at the assessment centre and talk through next steps depending on the outcome.
It is our intention that successful graduates will start in September.
