My typical day involves working on a variety of projects: acting as Quantity Surveyor, Employer’s Agent and Project Monitor in certain cases.

My main client is HBOS for whom we undertake a QS role on various refurbishment schemes.

This includes attending site meetings throughout the life of the project, providing feasibility estimates, agreeing the contract sum and final account, and continuous communication with the Project Manager. Because of this variety, I have found the HBOS projects very interesting over the past few years. More recently I have been acting as Employer’s Agent on a new warehouse in Haydock, St Helens and for Travelodge on their new hotel in Guildford.

In particular, I enjoy most the fact that we work on various types of projects and no two projects are the same. This means I gain extensive knowledge on the different types of projects and schemes that we do.

My qualifications include nine GCSEs, three A levels and BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying.

I became interested in Quantity Surveying as my father is a Structural Engineer who recommended Quantity Surveying as an interesting career. My next steps are to pass my APC and become a Chartered Surveyor. Most importantly, I want to continue enjoying the work I currently do for Faithful+Gould.
