David Burford Joins Building Surveying Team
The strategic appointment of David Burford has been announced by the Newcastle office of international project management and cost consultants, Faithful+Gould.
Taking up the position of senior building surveyor, David will be responsible for heading up the building surveying team in the North East of England. His appointment further builds upon the 124 building surveyors now employed nationally by Faithful+Gould, which is fast becoming one of the largest teams in the UK.
Undergoing a period of planned expansion, following the win and retention of a number of local and national commissions, tenders and frameworks, the Newcastle team provides the full range of building surveying services including measured surveys, fire risk assessments, design work and contract administrations.
David said:
“This is an excellent opportunity for me to climb the ladder in a company that is renowned for rewarding the hard work of its staff.
“Over recent years, Faithful+Gould has developed a highly successful national building surveying service and my task is to further bring our building surveying knowledge and experience into the North East and diversify our current core services of cost consultancy, planning supervision and project management. This will involve working closely with the UK head of building surveying, the directors in Newcastle and the well-established building surveying teams Faithful+Gould has in Leeds, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Nottingham.
“With Faithful+Gould’s excellent reputation in the region, and the backing of over 120 building surveyors nationally, I feel that we can offer a professional and efficient local service with the advantage of having large scale support available, if required, to deliver larger projects or meet tight deadlines.”
Martin Round, director of Faithful+Gould, who heads up the Newcastle office, said:
“David has been a key appointment for us and I am delighted to welcome him to our expanding office.
“He has a good reputation within the region and has the advantage of having worked with us on a number of projects over recent years. Things here are moving quickly – in under three months we have been successful in winning a range of design and survey work – this, combined with our national commissions mean that we will be looking to further grow our building surveying team within the coming months.
“As an indication of Faithful+Gould’s building surveying capabilities, a recent project for Barclays Bank saw 1, 300 fire risk/health and safety assessments undertaken within just nine months. Not many companies could boast a team able to undertake such a massive workload and deliver the project in time and within budget.
“With building surveying staff working out of 10 offices nationwide, we see this as a key area of strategic growth.”
