Faithful+Gould provided project management services to MADL for a number of major upgrade projects:

  • 5 new fully serviceable wide-bodied aircraft stands and associated taxiways (£20 million)
  • 2 new remote aircraft 'roll-on, roll-off' stands aimed at low cost airlines (£4 million) with through taxiways
  • Upgrade of existing taxiways, needed as a result of increased passenger traffic and new heavier aircraft at the Airport
  • A new T3 Apron incorporating 3 new remote operation stands for the low cost sector
  • Upgrade/adaptation of taxiways and associated stands to accommodate the new A380 plane

Manchester Airport Group project management Phase 1 of the scheme, which was complete in 2009, included the widening of one of Manchester's major taxiway routes from Runway 1. It also included the complete reconstruction of a pier-served aircraft stand to accommodate larger, heavier aircraft.
