Faithful+Gould provided a combined project management and quantity surveying service to Birmingham International Airport for its £9 million Phase 2 expansion of the T1 Departure Lounge.

Phase 2 consisted of extensive reconfiguration and refurbishment of the existing departure lounge. The work has provided:

  • Additional retail outlets at 1st floor level
  • An extension to the baggage hall which provides much needed storage for the retail operators
  • A new staff security screening point to improve processing of staff and goods
  • An extended Service Yard to improve deliveries to the airport and the management of waste

Birmingham International Airport Extension Phase 2 Faithful+Gould was appointed to the project as a continuation of services provided on Phase 1, completed successfully earlier in the year.

Phase 2 presented many of the same challenges and the appointment of the same Faithful+Gould team brought tremendous benefit in terms of experience and understanding.
