Faithful+Gould has been appointed by Network Rail for the regeneration of New Street Station and its surrounding area.

Our involvement started in 2003 on the capacity enhancement project studies for the station.

Planning permission was applied for in early 2006 and feasibility exercises were carried out throughout 2007.

The 5 year construction programme will begin in 2010 and will see major improvements to the station facilities including better links to the city centre, improvement of the public realm and a development site.

Proposed completion date for the entire project is 2015.

The Birmingham Gateway project is seen as one of the last pieces in the jigsaw for Birmingham city centre. It will compliment the successful redevelopment of the Mailbox, Brindley Place and Selfridges, and form part of the Bullring development. Faithful+Gould has acted as project and/or cost manager on all of these projects.
