The approach

The project is scheduled for completion in 2010 and is being completed in a number of phases.

The challenge

The development is on the western edge of the city centre adjacent to Chatham Street. Its objective is to expand Reading city centre and regenerate a neglected area containing two derelict multi storey car parks.

As part of this development, linking the site to Reading city centre will involve decking over a 300m section of local ring road to create a site of 6 acres. Four of the ten buildings proposed will be located in some part over this road.

Outcome

The project is ongoing.
