The Approach

  • Pre-contract cost management for construction or modification of various structures, stations, systems, (including OLE and signalling).
  • Optioneering
  • Preparation of feasibility and outline design stage estimates.
  • Preparation of initial cost plan and subsequent updating/reporting to DLR board.
  • Input into risk and value management processes.
  • Validation of estimates provided by other consultants. Production of initial cashflow forecasts and subsequent updating.
  • Input into the preparation of tender documentation.
  • Commercial tender evaluation and recommendation.
  • Post contract commercial management of implementation contract.

The Challenge

  • Restricted sites creating logistical problems with construction sequencing.
  • Interface between DLR, London Underground Limited (LUL) and Network Rail.
  • Works adjacent to operational railway.
  • Minimising impact on customers and third parties.

Outcome

  • Initial schemes at specific locations have been completed on time and to budget.
  • Remaining works are currently on programme for delivery.
