  • To provide planning engineering services within the planning and operational sectors of Dounreay Nuclear Power Plant
  • Projects involved in included Shaft and Silo waste removal, Vitrification plants, waste treatment plants and decommissioning of the PFR and DFR reactors
  • Faithful+Gould have assisted UKAEA in the development of the planning procedures for the site and carried out schedule risk analysis on several projects

The approach

  • The site plan sets out measures which will allow the major radiological hazards to be addressed within the first 25-30 years
  • Faithful+Gould planning teams were involved in developing project and operational plans to support the decommissioning of the plant

The challenge

  • The Dounreay Site Restoration Plan provides an integrated decommissioning and waste management plan which Faithful+Gould is actively involved in developing with the UKAEA Project Managers

  • A robust set of project schedules have been developed in conjunction with the client's team
