Stockwell Park High School
London Borough of Lambeth
Building Schools for the Future
The £28m Stockwell Park High School project involves the demolition of the existing school and reconstruction of a part three-storey, part four-storey building.
Stockwell Park High School has been designed for 1300 places for pupils aged 11-16 years, with a 15-place Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) unit and 100 staff.
The Approach
- Faithful+Gould is providing contract administrator and project management services.
- The school is remaining open and fully-functioning on site throughout the construction process and is being decanted into the new building in three phases.
- The site has presented a number of physical challenges to construction, with multiple entrances, an irregular shape and existing mature trees.
Environment and Sustainability
- The school is the first school to receive a rating of ‘Excellent' by the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE).
- The new building has been targeted to achieve a ‘Very Good' BREEAM rating.
- The school has been designed for 15% energy consumption to be from renewable energy technology.
Completion
- Phase 1: April 2009
- Phase 2: July 2010
- Phase 3: November 2010
