Programming and planning
Detailed programming and planning are fundamental to the development of a project throughout its lifecycle, providing a visible reference to the content and status of separate elements and the inter-relationships between them.
Using specialist techniques and dedicated software, we provide a precisely structured approach, allowing truly effective progress monitoring against targets and key milestones.
Programmes are tailored to suit each project. Depending on the team structure and contractual relationships, they include:
- Design planning: Using a co-ordinated approach to monitor the production of the design information.
- Procurement planning: Focusing on each section of the master programme to pinpoint action required to ensure efficient tender processes.
- Construction planning: Utilising the main contractor’s programmes and monitoring progress against the agreed programme of work.
- Completion programming: Identifying all activities, milestones and contractual obligations to be met in the countdown to completion of a project.
- Process planning: By understanding clients’ process and system requirements, we programme all activities to facilitate equipment installation in co-ordination with construction works.
- Programme monitoring: Enabling any programme risk or slippage to be evaluated promptly and corrective action taken.
- Option planning: Using bespoke software to determine what effect potential changes will have on the overall time schedule and so informing decision making.
- Visual programming: Our innovative multi-dimensional project management tool (3D plus time and cost) allows planners to visualise the status of a construction project at any point in the programme, communicate project details to layman and technical levels to all stakeholders, improve certainty and provide a visual project ‘walkthrough’ on screen.
