The Dutch Embassy Data Center Calls on Our PM Expertise

Christy Ullo
We provided project management services for the expansion of the existing network data hub at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Washington, D.C.

The Embassy, located at 4200 Linnean Avenue in Washington D.C., integrated a new network data hub (NDH) into the existing main equipment server room at the facility.

The Embassy requested that Faithful+Gould provide project management services for this project, overseeing the work of the design engineer and the general contractor. During construction of the data center expansion, the Embassy was required to be 100% operational, with power outages allowed only outside working hours at the Embassy. The project entailed the transfer of power and mechanical conditioning from running on standard commercial power to an independent and redundant power system. The scope of work also required the transfer of power of critical support and disaster recovery center spaces to the emergency power system. The new data hub was integrated into the existing server room and must meet the highest safety, quality and security standards

We have a long standing relationship with the Embassy, assisting it with a variety of small to complex projects. Beginning in 2006, Faithful+Gould provided facility condition assessment services followed by project management services for a perimeter security system, a repaving project and renovation of the existing commercial kitchen and dining area.
