John Mahoney was appointed to the Innovation Tri-Valley (ITV) Board of Directors in May 2012. Based on his extensive background with project delivery in the public and private sectors, John was specifically chosen to lead their Business Permit Streamlining Process Initiative and pilot program in the Tri-Valley.
ITV’s goal is to create certainty and reduce redundancy in the permitting process to encourage businesses to locate, stay and expand. With John’s guidance, ITV will also create a “one stop” portal to assist business with their project delivery needs, identify applicable financial incentives and provide professional services to help the Client structure their project to expedite it through the permitting and approval processes that may apply.
Innovation Tri-Valley is a business-led initiative to align the vision of the private sector, our national labs, the community and civic leaders. It is designed to create an inviting business ecosystem that breaks new ground for innovation, building on the strengths of California's Tri-Valley cities.
John will be working with California Assembly member Joan Buchanan, representing the 16th District, Alameda County and the various private businesses, municipalities and cities of the Tri-Valley (Danville, San Ramon, Dublin, Pleasanton and Livermore) with support from other government leaders, such as Speaker of the California Assembly John Perez and Congressman Garamendi, representing the 10th Congressional District of California.
ITV is working with Assemblywoman Joan Buchanan to create a regional pilot in the Tri-Valley for streamlining approval process by various agencies and levels of government via a single point of contact. For instance, the Governor's Office of Economic Development or a local agency that could be authorized to give approval for standards set by local state or federal government agencies.
