Faithful+Gould Will Participate in the 36th Annual ‘Hood to Coast’ Relay Race

Becki Iverson
Twelve members of our Faithful+Gould team are running in the world’s longest relay race to benefit a worthy cause.

Faithful+Gould has been an active participant in Hood to Coast (HTC) for the past several years. The annual event consists of an overnight, long-distance relay race held in Portland, Oregon. The event welcomes runners and volunteers from around the country to tackle the 199-mile course.

Dubbed the "Fast Glorious 12", Faithful+Gould’s team will be led by Lead Cost Manager Dusty Johnson and will include Senior Vice President - Director of Operations Paul Lakin and Senior Vice President and Manufacturing Sector Lead Jonathan Marshall. The rest of the team will be made up of Faithful+Gould employees, who are predominantly consultants for one of our key Manufacturing sector clients.

Dusty shared, “This is a great event that will give us the opportunity to work together as a team. Over a 36-hour period, our team will be stuck together in two vans. We will endure many challenges and hopefully find the fun in these challenges, like dealing with minimal sleep and showering to add to physical pain and stiffness from running approximately 15 miles. This will be my 13th year participating in Hood to Coast and I am looking forward to sharing the experience with this team!"

HTC is committed to giving back through partnerships with various organizations to raise money for worthy causes. This year's theme is #FinishCancer, with participants running in support of the Providence Cancer Center (PCC). PCC is a national leader in innovative cancer treatments, with a focus on immunotherapy. To help support this cause, our team has put together a fundraising page with all donations going directly to PCC.

Faithful+Gould Senior Vice President Paul Lakin shared, "Faithful+Gould views giving back as a crucial element of our corporate responsibility. We're all excited for the race itself and knowing that our efforts will help support an institution such as PCC makes the experience all the more worthwhile."

The race will begin on Friday, August 25, 2017, at the Timberline Day Lodge at the top of Mt. Hood and continue along the Oregon coast to the finish line in Seaside, Oregon. After the conclusion of the race Saturday afternoon, participants will celebrate together at one of the largest beach parties on the West Coast.
