Built on a scenic 5 acre site on Rainbow Harbor, Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific features 157,000ft2 of floor space, 17 major habitats and 31 ocean animals representing 550 species. It is one of the world's largest ocean aquariums. Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific includes a kids’ cove, an auditorium, two wet/dry classrooms, teacher resource center, a gift shop and an indoor/outdoor restaurant – the Café Scuba – that overlooks Rainbow Harbor. Visitors are introduced to the Pacific ocean’s three major regions the temperate Southern California/Baja, the Northern Pacific, and the Tropical Pacific. Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific selected Faithful+Gould to oversee the design and building contracts.
Faithful+Gould served as the owner’s representative and construction manager. We were responsible for: Cost control, schedule control, quality assurance, value engineering, and change order reviews. The aquarium opened to unanimous critical and public acclaim.
