The £1bn Paddington Village scheme is one of the flagship regeneration projects in Knowledge Quarter Liverpool. In October 2018 Faithful+Gould was selected by Liverpool City Council to provide project management services for Paddington Village’s Hotel development.
Liverpool City Council are developing the Paddington Village Hotel under the Accor Hotels brand, Novotel, with Legacy Hotels & Resorts operating the hotel once complete.
The hotel is located on the prominent corner site and comprises a 16-storey development with a GIA of over 12,000 sq/m. The hotel bedroom accommodation consists of 221 rooms, inclusive of 39 long stay rooms, across 13 of the storeys. The public amenity space is split over 3 levels and includes a generous reception foyer, external terrace, bar, restaurant, coffee shop, fitness suite and meeting rooms. The bold hotel design is in response to the site location, boasting a dynamic cantilever with Corten weathering steel rainscreen cladding.
The scheme obtained planning approval in August 2019. Enabling works are due to commence on the site in Autumn 2019 to prepare the plot for the main works construction phase, which will be starting early in 2020. The hotel opening date is planned for quarter 1 2022.
