Faithful+Gould is providing an ongoing series of Time on Tools® Study Programs to all BP’s North American Oil Refineries.
The Time on Tools® service was developed by Faithful+Gould to identify the root cause of the barriers which prevent construction crews from working, quantify the impact of those barriers and provide data essential to the development of mitigation plans that will reduce the impact of those barriers in the future. To date the study programs have identified numerous drains on project efficiency. This has allowed best practices to be implemented across the clients construction programs and bring savings from both construction cost reduction (by increasing crew actual working time) and from a reduction in lost production revenues.
BP Carson Refinery - Faithful+Gould have been conducting Time on Tools® on plant shutdown work since 2004 and have completed a single routine maintenance study program. Barriers identified during one plant shutdown surrounding the distribution of materials, tools and equipment led to a rethink of the logistical procedures that yielded a 15% increase in Working Time in the next shutdown.
BP Whiting Refinery - Faithful+Gould have been conducting Time on Tools® on plant shutdown work since 2007 and have completed multiple routine maintenance study programs. These include a re-measure of efficiency after suggested barrier mitigation efforts had been put in place. An increase in working time of 36 percent was observed.
BP Texas City Refinery - Faithful+Gould have conducted Time on Tools® Study Programs on plant shutdown work, routine maintenance and on capital projects since 2006.
BP Toledo Refinery - Faithful+Gould have conducted Time on Tools® Study Programs on plant shutdown work and routine maintenance since 2008.
BP Cherry Point Refinery – Starting in April 2011 Faithful+Gould will commence a major Study Program on plant shutdown works at the refinery.
