Faithful+Gould provided schedule support services to UTSW for the new 1.3 million square foot William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
The new hospital's unique "W" shape design is an example of "form follows fuction". The "W" shape allows each floor's 64 single rooms to to become two 32-room wards or four 16-room wards for research or treatment purposes. It provides hospital staff, patients and visitors closer interaction and better sight lines with shorter hallways. It also protects patients from infections, exposure and noise.
The new Clements University Hospital includes:
- 460 single-patient rooms
- 40 emergency treatment rooms
- 24 surgical suites
- 12 interventional suites
- 72 adult ICU rooms
- 16 labor and delivery rooms
- 30 neonatal ICU rooms
- 4 CT scan, 2 MRI, and 6 X-ray suites
Services also included construction manager at risk bid evaluations, monthly site visits and schedule reviews throughout the 44-month construction period and four months of post construction medical equipment procurement and commissioning support.
