Faithful+Gould Appointed on Singapore’s First Liquefied Natural Gas Facility

Christie Chua
The Energy Market Authority (EMA) of Singapore has appointed Faithful+Gould (Singapore) and Atkins as the technical advisors to support the development of Singapore’s first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Import Terminal.

The LNG terminal, which will be located on a 30-hectare reclaimed site at Jurong Island, will have an initial send-out capacity of 3 million tones per annum (Mtpa), with potential for expansion to 6 Mtpa. Power Gas Limited, a member of Singapore Power Group, is responsible for development of the LNG terminal.

Construction of the terminal has commenced, and the terminal is expected to be operational by early 2012 to coincide with the first deliveries of LNG to Singapore.

Faithful+Gould's 12 month contract is to support EMA in the technical review of the terminal's design and engineering work. This will culminate in the award of an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract by Power Gas for terminal construction. In addition, Faithful+Gould will provide technical input into the regulations and licences that will govern the terminal's future operations.
