Our team successfully delivered a fast track programme for Ericsson’s new corporate office in the Klang Valley, Malaysia. Appointed in July 2014, we provided end-to-end project management and contract administration services from inception to completion and handover.
Our scope of work included design management, stakeholder and landlord liaison, procurement of consultants, coordination of the main tender, landlord liaison, oversight of the construction, move management as well as management of all change and administration of the contract.
The project involved fitting out a new workspace of 60,000sqft based on Ericsson’s global ‘smart working’ principles, the office relocation from Cyberjaya to their new premises, migration of servers to a remote data centre facility along with equipment moves to a third site. As part of our role, we also managed the reinstatement of over 100,000sqft of space.
With a challenging 5-month programme that allowed for only a 2-month construction schedule, our team enabled an impressive tender period of just one week through early engagement of the supply chain. This was realised through an extensive pre-qualification process where we identified a small pool of very capable contractors who were invited to tender during the detailed design period. This proactive approach to safeguard the programme led to the timely appointment of a highly competent contractor within budget.
The project was handed over to a very satisfied client. Despite the aggressive timeline, the quality of finishes is of the highest standard while budget remained intact. We also received very positive feedback from Ericsson’s staff on the quality and vibrancy of the new office environment.
Faithful+Gould also managed Ericsson’s Singapore office relocation from Thompson Road to One@Changi in 2013.
