Faithful+Gould’s Stockton office has won Programme of the Year at Northumbrian Water’s ‘Going the Extra Mile’ (GEM) Awards for their work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on the ten-year Acceptability of Water to Customers (AOW) programme.

The client team, which consisted of MWH, Morrison Utility Services, Seymour Civil Engineering, Grontmij and Faithful+Gould, scooped the award for achieving and exceeding the ten-year targets on the AOW programme.

The programme, which started in 2004 and Faithful+Gould provided ECC project management, cost management and planning services for, triumphed at the GEM Awards for reducing the customer contacts to discoloured water from 14000 to 4000, cleaning and refurbishing 328km of large diameter trunk mains and flushing 4000km of distribution network pipelines.

"Having supported AOW for several years, it is great to see it being recognised as a significant and successful programme of works."

Lisa Patton, Trevor Shaw, Jonathan Shaw and Jill Glover from the Faithful+Gould team have exceeded expectations as part of the multi-disciplinary team; the award is testament to their hard work, collaboration and dedication.

The success of this ten-year programme has strengthened our long-standing relationship with Northumbrian Water, which is key to accelerating our growth within the sector. It’s very rewarding to see Faithful+Gould valued for what we do and for what we are good at.”

The annual awards, hosted by Northumbrian Water, are awarded to projects and programmes that go the extra mile to help the water company achieve its goal to be the national leader in sustainable water and waste water services.
