One Million Hours Safety Record Celebrated in Oman

Our team in Oman is celebrating one million incident free hours at the Asian Beach Games project site.

Our Dubai office, appointed by the Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) to manage the delivery of a site for the Asian Beach Games, to be held in Oman, is providing project, cost and construction management services.

Due for completion in June 2010, the site, which encompasses media, medical, entertainment, security, storage and maintenance facilities, marina, roads, car parks and infrastructure services, will include a three-star hotel, competition and training areas, temporary accommodation, viewing facilities and facilities to support the games.

The site safety achievement award from OmranAt a party held to celebrate the achievement in site safety, our Oman team presented all 700 site workers with rewards and entertained more than 100 other staff involved in the project from Faithful+Gould, OMRAN, Atkins, NWS International, Carillion and Larsen & Toubro.

Richard Thomas, regional operations director at Faithful+Gould, spent the day on site to join in the celebrations and received an award from Wael Al Lawati, CEO of Omran, to demonstrate the client's appreciation.

Simon Richards, Faithful+Gould's project manager for the Asian Beach Games, said "Working closely with Omran, we have been able to apply the highest standards of health and safety to every area of this project. Our fantastic success, however, would not have been possible without the continued hard work of all consultants and contractors involved on the project. Our celebratory party was to thank all those involved and to encourage the continuation of an incident free zone for the remainder of this and other projects".
