OMRAN, Omani Government owned tourism company, appointed Faithful+Gould to manage the delivery of the site for the Second Asian Beach Games which was completed on time and to budget and took place in Muscat in December 2010.
Faithful+Gould provided full project, cost and construction management services for the construction of the Games’ facilities which includes pitches, arenas, grandstands, the marina, Games Command Centre, 4 star 250-bed hotel, apartment block, athletes’ village and media centre.
Legacy was an important consideration for this project. Major event host cities typically seek long-term benefits such as regeneration, tourism, economic positioning and transfer of knowledge.
Faithful+Gould’s project management role has included helping Omran to achieve best value on transitioning the Sports Village to a mixed-use residential commercial and tourism resort development.
In spearheading the aim for ISO Certification Standards for Health and Safety, our project management team encouraged a culture change in the site environment. We were especially proud when the site earned the safety accolade of twelve million hours incident-free.
