The theatre underwent a facelift of its prominent façade in 2015, as well as some interior works. The new façade has been restored to replicate its original design from the early 1960's. Manny Patel of Structura, part of the restoration team commented: "The main challenges were the logistics of handling such large panes of glass and the complications of dealing with the condition of the façade once the old glazing had been removed…we wanted to bring the building back to its original appearance. Richard Stocking, Faithful+Gould's Heritage Consultant and Project Lead on the Congress Theatre commented: "I'm delighted the Congress is receiving the recognition it deserves. Our project team were truly collaborative. We faced a few challenges, not least the state of disrepair the concrete structure was in, which affected how we proceeded on the project, but our solutions were always reached together, pulling together the knowledge and experience of our respective teams."
