Staff at Faithful+Gould in Glasgow gave themselves a mountain to climb this month when they took part in the WaterAid Munro Challenge.

On Saturday 9th June, Faithful+Gould staff Dale Potts, Ian Duncan, Chris Maguire, Archie Torrance and Crawford Cumming joined almost 3000 other walkers in the Challenge to simultaneously place teams of hill walkers on all 303 peaks over 3,000ft in Britain. The purpose of the event was to raise money for WaterAid, which aims to fund safe water projects in some of the world's poorest countries in Asia and Africa.

The team from Faithful+Gould successfully ascended the 3076 feet to the summit of Ben Vorlich at Loch Lomond on what was one of the hottest days of the year in Scotland. Their efforts raised almost £1000 in sponsorship.

Chris Maguire, the Faithful+Gould team co-ordinator, hailed the day as a great success; "It was a very positive and rewarding day and we managed to finish the challenge in a good time with just enough energy for a sprint finish to the summit! We all dealt with the conditions well and were grateful for the light breeze that gave us some relief from the temperature and more importantly kept Scotland's most irritating inhabitants at bay - the midges!

"As a global company, we are keen to support causes that have a far-reaching effect and the work WaterAid does to bring safe water to some of the poorest people in the world is a hugely important step towards eradicating poverty in these countries. We hope that our contribution helps to make a difference and thank everyone who sponsored the team."
