The north east office of international project management and cost consultants will provide cost management and commercial services to support the delivery of the programme. This will involve a significant team providing quantity surveying, commercial and project management services to NWL through planning and delivery phases of capital projects.
Faithful+Gould will additionally provide programme reporting together with risk and value assessment services using its extensive knowledge of construction, particularly within the water industry.
The Framework started on 1st December 2006 and will run for three years with the possibility of a further three year extension.
Director George Murray commented, "We are absolutely delighted to have been appointed to the framework and this will serve to further strengthen our relationship with NWL that already spans 15 years. NWL have been, and will now remain our most significant client in the north east and is ranked in Faithful+Gould’s top 20 clients nationally. This caps a great year for Faithful+Gould in the water and environment arena that has seen our re-appointment to both NWL and Scottish Water frameworks as well as our selection for the first time to the Environment Agencies National Cost Consultancy Framework. This further strengthens our existing portfolio of clients in the sector, such as United Utilities and Thames Water."
As all water companies are under increasing pressure to deliver a cost effective service, the Faithful+Gould team is hoping to introduce some new cost and project management tools such as CATO, EPOCH and VBCS developed in other industries and from its experience in the US market to further enhance its service delivery during the lifespan of the programme of works.
Having provided commercial and project support services to NWL projects Faithful+Gould has previously played key roles on the Coastal Programme, construction of major assets, such as the Wear Valley Water Treatment Works and the Bran Sands Regional Sludge Treatment Centre.
