Faithful+Gould has provided project management services for the new Nike franchise store Fit Out at Phase One of Manchester’s new Arndale Centre.

Faithful+Gould currently has several project managers on secondment to the Nike European Project Management Development Team. It has undertaken full project management of the store including budget planning, fixture and fittings ordering and brand image monitoring.

Opened on the 20th October, the store is 410 sq m (4,415 sq ft) in total and comprises a sales floor on two levels and a basement level which is used for stock space. Construction of Phase One of the new Arndale Centre began in late 2003 and the redevelopment of the centre has cost in the region of £150 million. It will house a variety of new retailers including the largest Next store in Europe. The Nike store is a Grade A unit in a prominent position, opposite Selfridges and the new Manchester Evening News Wheel of Manchester.

Jeremy Ford, one of Faithful+Gould’s European project managers for Nike, commented: "This is a very prestigious store for Nike, it is great to be part of the refurbishment of the Arndale Centre. Located on Market Street, it is one of the City’s main shopping streets and attracts over 500,000 shoppers per week."

He continues: "Faithful+Gould works very closely with Nike and understands the importance of the brand on the High Street. We have recently completed work on a large store in the centre of Salzburg and one of our next projects is in Frankfurt Airport. The stores are designed in line with the company’s brand image so the projects are controlled centrally from headquarters in Amsterdam. We have an on-going relationship with Nike that began in 2001 and have worked on over 40 stores across Europe to date."

Faithful+Gould has also worked on Selfridges store in Exchange Square and is currently providing project and cost management services on Argent’s Piccadilly Place development.
