Dale Potts
The DVD features surveyors taking the RICS APC programme. They talk about increased confidence gained and the success of Faithful+Gould’s mentoring process.

A new DVD introduces the benefits and challenges of qualification through the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence to students and recent graduates considering a career in surveying.

The DVD, produced by international project and cost management consultants Faithful+Gould, features interviews with young surveyors taking the RICS APC programme as employees of the company. They talk about the increased confidence which they develop through the APC programme and the success of Faithful+Gould’s mentoring process.

This is combined with interviews with senior company managers, explaining Faithful+Gould’s training provision, which has seen the company’s candidates consistently achieve a pass rate of 79% over the past four years, some 17% ahead of the RICS average.

The company recognises the importance of offering market-leading training and development. Stephen Hateley, director in charge of the APC programme, says: "Project and cost management is an extremely competitive marketplace. All of the top 10 companies are pitching for the same individuals. Graduates are the lifeblood of our business and we need to attract the highest calibre performers and introduce them into our business. One of the ways in which we can do that is by having a first class APC graduate training programme."

Faithful+Gould is to make the DVD available to all FE and university careers departments. To obtain a copy please e-mail your department’s contact details to
