The annual awards scheme was launched in 2000 by the Birmingham Future networking group to recognise young professionals in the region.
Claire Charman, 31, joined worldwide project and cost consultants Faithful+Gould in 2000 as project manager in the Birmingham office. Her role is to co-ordinate the full construction team on behalf of clients including Deutsche Bank, La Salle Investments and Stephenson College.
She is a member of Faithful+Gould’s Innovations team, a working group reporting directly to the management board with the aim of formulating innovative practices that improve business performance.
Claire graduated from the University of Wolverhampton in building surveying and moved into project management after achieving Chartered status. She recently completed an MSc in Construction Project Management from the University of Central England, where she focussed her dissertation on client care issues within the industry. She said, "I was pleased to be nominated by Faithful+Gould for this award and both surprised and delighted to have won. I am excited about the opportunity the award gives me to raise the profiles of Birmingham and Faithful+Gould project management over the coming year."
