Colleagues from the Nottingham office of project manager and cost consultant, Faithful+Gould, ditched their usual business dress for more appropriate walking shoes and trainers last week to take part in their first ‘Walk to Work’ day.

The event, which was organised by Faithful+Gould’s Nottingham team to raise money for the local Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre, saw colleagues leave their cars at home for the day to get to work by foot, bicycle or public transport. Six colleagues went the extra mile and set off at 3am to walk to the office from Derby.

Shaun Lunn, director at Faithful+Gould, Nottingham and organiser of the event comments: "We have established the ‘Walk to Work’ event to enable us to support an organisation that provides a much needed service to the local community. We managed to raise £413 on the day as well as getting some exercise and reducing our impact on the environment."

Adds Maureen Mangam, centre manager for the Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre: "I am delighted that Faithful+Gould completed the ‘Walk to Work’ day to raise funds for the centre. The money raised will go towards the purchase of additional physiotherapy equipment for our members."
