Building upon an already substantial portfolio of water related contracts, Faithful+Gould has been appointed to work with Scottish Water as its lead cost consultancy.

The appointment will see Faithful+Gould’s Scottish and northern teams providing a range of professional and technical services relating to cost and expenditure including project cost estimating, contract cost auditing, cost data interpretation and analysis and regulatory reporting.

Heading up the project is director Sean Lynch, who is responsible for water sector clients in the North East, Scotland and Ireland. He said:

"We are delighted to have been awarded this highly significant contract. Scottish Water is an influential company responsible for major capital investment in Scotland and we are justly proud that it has placed great confidence in our team’s ability to deliver to its high standards.

"The challenge for Faithful+Gould now is to utilise our unrivalled and wide ranging expertise within this sector to provide new and innovative solutions to meet Scottish Water’s own commercial and regulatory challenges.

"Throughout the duration of this contract we are keen to deliver added value to Scottish Water through the constant monitoring of our team’s performance in relation to internal targets. Additionally, we will obtain regular client feedback on their objectives in relation to their business targets and our contribution to this."

Scottish Water is the fourth largest water and waste water services provider in the UK and with a turnover of £1 billion per annum, it is in Scotland’s list of top 20 businesses. It plans to invest £628m this financial year in improving assets to meet challenging customer service targets set by Scotland’s policymakers.

John Drummie, Capital Cost Manager from Scottish Water, said:

"We are pleased to have the support and expertise of Faithful+Gould to help ensure we get best value from our current capital investment plan and to meet tough capital efficiency targets set by our Regulator. We now have a firm focus on the future and Faithful+Gould is actively working alongside our own team who are preparing the 2010 -14 Investment Plan as part of the regulatory process in Scotland."

This latest commission further enhances Faithful+Gould’s portfolio of water sector work which includes cost management and commercial services to support the delivery of Northumbrian Water Limited’s (NWL) AMP4 capital investment delivery programme.
