Work starts on site for London developer on residential scheme in Nottingham

Work is underway to construct a four-storey residential apartment block in the prosperous suburb of West Bridgford, south of the River Trent in the Borough of Rushcliffe, Nottingham.

The residential development includes 24 two-bed and six one bed apartments with parking and landscaped areas. The residential team in Faithful+Gould, member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, is leading London Developer, Buildwell Developments Ltd, in this new and exciting opportunity.  SNC-Lavalin acquired Faithful+Gould, as part of WS Atkins plc, on July 3, 2017.

The thriving West Bridgford property market continues to challenge national housing trends with properties selling within days and, on occasions, above the asking price. This is partly due to the excellent local primary and secondary schools and a wide variety of retail and hospitality outlets.

Andrew Prickett, director – UK head of residential in SNC-Lavalin’s Faithful+Gould business, said “Nottingham is extremely investable with the demand for good quality housing being strong. There is a shortage of housing stock across the Midlands and whilst build prices continue to remain competitive we anticipate more developments will come to site.

The development is being built on the old ambulance station site on Rectory Road, the multi million-pound residential development is due for completion in Autumn 2019, blending modern methods of construction with the style of building expected of and maintained within the developing areas of Nottingham.

Vinny Bhandari, Buildwell Developments, said “The East Midlands has a diversified economy with award winning universities and impressive transport links. Nottingham is a prime location, and an attractive place to be in the residential market, the Rectory Road development is an exciting opportunity for us.”
