CPD Breakfast - Time Risk Allowances within Compensation Events

The Hub, Eiffel Room, 500 Park Avenue, Aztec West, Almondsbury, Bristol, BS32 4RZ

About the event

Steven Hambleton, Head of Highways for Wales and the South West will look at the principal of including time risk allowances within the assessment of compensation events in order to help address the impact of non-critical delays to a contractor's programme.

Agenda

08:30 – Guests arrive for tea/coffee and breakfast rolls
09:00 – CPD session starts
09:45 – Opportunity for Q&A and networking

There has historically been an issue within highways construction projects when it comes to agreeing the final account – the cost of the works, and more specifically the issue of assessing time in relation to the change. Contractors have often reached the end of the project and calculated how much the project has actually cost them compared to what they will get paid. A shortfall in that figure will often result in disagreements and lengthy negotiations between the client and the contractor until a sum is agreed upon.

The CPD session will investigate an approach that will potentially avoid this situation and benefit all parties involved.

Refreshments and breakfast rolls will be served on arrival.

There is no parking available on site but there are good public transport links and some on road parking in the surrounding area.
