Faithful+Gould carried out a full acquisition survey of a 4 storey retail outlet in central Glasgow. The property was identified as a potential location for HBOS's flagship store in Glasgow. We undertook a full condition assessment and structural survey. In addition we reported on issues relating to the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) 2005. The survey formed the basis of a report on the key issues relating to the layout, condition and intended operation of the building. It was used to inform HBOS's decision to proceed with the acquisition.
Faithful+Gould mobilised the project team within 24 hours, including: Building surveyors, M+E surveyor, structural surveyor, specialist flat roofing contractor. We turned around the survey well within the client's required timescales and the property is now operating as an HBOS branch. Faithful+Gould provided added value services, undertaking a review of HBOS's design proposals and suggesting alterations to the design around key building features.
