Northumbrian Water’s regulatory commitment to improve customers’ water quality over a ten year (AMP4 and AMP5) period was entitled ‘The Acceptability of Water to Customers (AoW) Programme’.
Faithful+Gould provided ECC project management, cost management and programme/planning support as part of a multi-disciplinary team for the AoW programme of works, helping to achieve Northumbrian Water’s ambitious targets.
As a result of the collaborative working on the project, the cleaned network is now operating at optimal performance with significantly reduced risk, and improvements in the asset condition operability and security of supply will leave a lasting legacy for the future.
The Drinking Water Inspectorate, utility companies and contractors now recognise the AoW works as industry leading in the mains cleaning field and it won Programme of the Year at Northumbrian Water’s ‘Going the Extra Mile’ Awards. In addition, the works were highly commended in the categories of ‘Team of the Year’ and ‘Customer Focus’.
Richard Johnston, Project Manager from Northumbrian Water, said: “Faithful+Gould have made and continue to make significant contributions to the programme of works as part of the individual project teams; their continued professionalism and conscientious approach is to be commended.”
