Faithful+Gould were appointed by the Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) to provide client side project management consultancy services for an office refurbishment.
The existing office environment did not meet the current and future needs of the department, specifically their requirement for a flexible way of working and planned increase in staff numbers. Successfully delivering the project on time and on budget, the completed project now provides the agile working environment that the DVSA wants to encourage, incorporating a large amount of wall mounted whiteboards and visual displays encouraging engagement and collaboration.
Key to the success of the project was obtaining landlord’s approval. Early engagement and regular liaison with the landlord’s agent enabled approval to be granted in time for the works to commence on programme and without delay. Working within a live office environment involved essential close monitoring and strict adherence to the programme and phasing of the works, ensuring disruption was kept to a minimum and did not impact adversely on day-to-day operations.
As project manager, Faithful+Gould were responsible for managing various stakeholder groups, including securing design approvals, change management and general client liaison
