Bridgegate House is a large local government refurbishment project, transforming a 1970s three-storey office block with retail outlets on the ground floor. The £6m project involved a complete facelift for the property, radically altering the look of this building and creating a more contemporary feel.
The building is also the new North Ayrshire Council customer services centre. As part of its overall accommodation strategy, North Ayrshire Council aimed to rationalise its office space, moving towards a more flexible and cost-effective solution. The refurbishment project enabled relocation of staff from other buildings, bringing several services under one roof, including registration, council tax and benefits. The project has increased the occupancy of the building from circa 200 people to over 400.
Faithful+Gould was appointed as cost manager. Our role involved liaison with the Council’s multiple internal stakeholders, including its infrastructure and design services team, the North Ayrshire Municipal Bank, and Department of Trading Standards.
