Faithful+Gould provides building surveying services as part of local authority estates strategies. We undertake Asset Management Plan (AMP) condition surveys and produce layout drawings to capture condition, suitability and sufficiency data. This establishes baseline data for the BSF process.
Faithful+Gould has a team of Asset Management Plan (AMP) surveyors who are experienced in working with Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) requirements. We undertake condition surveys according to the guidance issued by the Department for Children, Schools and Families. Surveys cover a 5 year planning period, outlining the work necessary to bring premises up to standard and to rectify breaches of legislation.
We have provided a number of AMP strategies to local authorities. We have also helped to develop a hand held computer data collection method which significantly reduces the time and cost of completing surveys. This method of data collection has also been adapted for completing DDA, fire risk assessment, glazing, mechanical and electrical surveys and has been successfully introduced to a number of authorities. Faithful+Gould has developed action plans and strategies that help local authorities to meet CPA requirements. As part of this we have worked closely with local authorities during assessment and interviews with the Audit Commission.
A measured survey of each property is undertaken to produce 2D CAD plans. The drawings identify: Wall thickness, location of window and door openings, room categorisations, school buildings by block, associated external landscaping, site boundary and data sheets incorporating total site area and total gross internal area by block. Faithful+Gould has worked with: Derby City Council, Derbyshire County Council, Nottingham City Council, South Derbyshire District Council, Bristol City Council and Birmingham City Council.
