Capital Education Programme 2017 – Derby City Council

Our Nottingham office was appointed by Derby City Council to provide multi-disciplinary design services on their £2.9m 2017 Capital Education Programme.

The challenging programme covered a variety of project types and required a collaborative approach between Derby City Council, Faithful+Gould and the contractor to deliver the meticulously planned scheme in an extremely tight timescale of six weeks, with projects selected to address key needs and deliver maximum value for money.

Benefits to client

Early engagement of the project team and completion of the planning before the works commenced meant all projects were delivered on time and on budget, with all works completed out of term time and no school closure days.

Additional client benefits delivered by the programme include:

• Over 5500 pupils receiving the benefits of an improved school environment
• Procuring higher volumes of products across the programme delivered a lower unit price thereby creating value for money for the Council
• The drive for energy efficiency throughout the programme will reduce waste and energy costs for the client

“…I would like to say a special thank you to those who have gone the extra mile delivering their projects to a very high standard keeping the end users and clients fully informed…”
