In Cardiff, demand for good-quality provision has resulted in more than 20 significant student accommodation schemes constructed during the last three years or currently in development. One of the latest to reach completion is Livin Cardiff, situated at the southern end of City Road.
Livin Cardiff is built to a high specification, with bespoke design and branding and provides 135 en suite studios across two buildings, surrounding a landscaped courtyard. Other facilities include a cinema area, private bookable kitchen, launderette, study room and TV lounge.
Faithful+Gould provided employer’s agent and building surveying services on Livin Cardiff and was appointed at feasibility stage. We led the development of an efficient and affordable design, managing its transition to a completed scheme.
Having negotiated a contract price, further challenges included the extremely confined site, and the complexities arising from 10 party wall, boundary or access agreements.
Our client set out to deliver a high level of specification and part of our team’s role was to ensure that the full design intent was realised. Our effective management of the design process and procurement of fit-out items has resulted in a product that offers uncompromised quality, delivered within budgetary parameters.
