Faithful+Gould were appointed to provide Project Management services for the Cripps Health centre, a £9m new build health facility located on the main University of Nottingham campus. The new centre has been wholly funded by the philanthropic Cripps Foundation, who have been one of the University’s most generous donors supporting a range of buildings including the original health centre establishing a tradition of philanthropy stretching more than 60 years.
The existing health centre, comprising of a major GP and dental service, has been radically updated and upgraded, providing much needed extra space for both the doctors and dental practices as well as a new Boots pharmacy. The new centre continues the Cripps family legacy of creating a sense of place by providing a state of the art medical health centre for both students and the wider community.
The new facility enhances the user experience by offering first-class medical facilities and greater choice of NHS services within its 31 GP consultant rooms, one four-bed GP patient observation room, pharmacy, physiotherapy room, GP enhanced procedure room, two GP treatment rooms, nine mental health rooms, one GP seminar room and eight dental treatment rooms. These rooms are complemented by waiting areas, WC facilities, training rooms, interview spaces, and administration and storage rooms.
Faithful+Gould is delighted that this contemporary project has been shortlisted in the Design through Innovation category for the RICS Awards 2019, East Midlands.
