This £50 million project involved the replacement of Telford College's existing four campuses with a new custom built, state-of-the-art college situated on Edinburgh's regenerated waterfront. Our project management team worked closely with representatives from the College's teaching and support staff and with students to ensure that the new building met their needs. We also managed the procurement process to provide the best balance of competition to programme, cost certainty and quality for the client.
The Challenge: To introduce and manage an existing design team one year after the project design process had started, to address all of the issues related with coordinating a disparate college estate into one single campus, to procure a contract with least risk to the client, to deliver in time for the start of the College’s new academic year. Construction started in February 2004 and was completed in May 2006 in time for students entering in September 2006.
