This £80m development consists 360 high quality apartments in London's Royal Docks having transformed a formerly disused 0.5 acre site into a glass-clad, twin tower development of one, two and three bed homes. The apartments have floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors with balcony access as well as access to a gym located within the building. The development has created a design-led, community orientated housing for the middle income market.
Faithful+Gould joined the design team during the early construction phase. Our role was to ensure that our client, the Hub Group, achieved best value and efficient delivery. The constrained site layout and geography, very close to London City Airport, necessitated careful programming. Efficient supply chain management was also a critical part of our role. We also ensured that the development's environnmental aspirations were affordable and practical. Features include blue roofs, developed to manage surface water run-off, and storage and energy sharing agreements to provide district heating.
The project was completed in Autumn 2016.
