Lansdown Building Window Replacement - Wellsway School

Wellsway School was constructed in the 1950’s so the original single glazed windows were draughty and many of them were failing and unable to be opened.

Faithful+Gould was appointed by the the Trust to develop the scheme, obtain tenders and prepare and submit the Condition Improvement Funding application. This included a detailed appraisal of the options available, identifying costs to be saved in energy and future maintenance and developing a programme which could be delivered without disrupting teaching.

The application was successful providing the Trust with the funds to deliver the project and to pay all consultant fees.

We were also appointed to deliver the works on site, administer the contract and provide site quality monitoring, cost consultancy and principal designer services.

The works started following completion of exams, and as there was a lower school occupancy we were able to free an area of the building for the works to commence before the start of the summer vacation. This enabled the majority of the works to be completed before the new school year started. A few other areas were made available at the start of the year with the final windows replaced during the October half term holiday. This meant that distruption to children and staff was kept to a minimum.

Faithful+Gould now deliver all property consultancy advice for the Trust
