We have been appointed to provide project management, quantity surveying, building surveying, contract administration and CDM coordinator services, through the GPS Buying Solutions Framework RM457 to implement the Renfrewshire Council Scottish Housing Quality Standard (SHQS) Common Blocks project.
The programme of works will deliver significant external upgrades and improvements across 2,000 properties on the Council’s estate within the Renfrewshire area. The project has been split into 10 phases with phases 1, 2 and 3 now practically complete, phase 4 nearing practical completion and phases 5, 6 and 7 all on site.
The SHQS 2012 – 2015 is the Scottish Government’s principle measure of housing quality in Scotland. The SHQS consists of five broad housing criteria which must all be met if the property is to pass. These criteria in turn consist of 55 elements and nine sub-elements against which properties need to be measured. In the case of the social housing sector, the Scottish Government has set a policy target for those landlords to bring their stock up to every element of the standard (where applicable) by April 2015.
The Faithful+Gould led team has developed a proactive working relationship with the Council overcoming a number of challenges, resulting in some excellent feedback for the team.
