Faithful+Gould has an excellent reputation for project managing new and innovative regeneration projects. We were selected to provide integrated project management services that include program management, cost consulting and LEED certification coordination services on the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in Athens, Greece.
The SNFCC is a private public partnership of national significance and impact that includes the construction and complete outfitting of new facilities for the National Library of Greece (NLG) and the Greek National Opera (GNO), as well as the creation of the 170,000 m² Stavros Niarchos Park.
As one of the largest construction projects in recent Greek history, the SNFCC will have an immediate impact on the local economy, providing jobs and infusing capital into a challenging economic landscape.
Renowned architect Renzo Piano has designed an icon, which is emblematic of the aspirations of Greeks in the third millennium, by incorporating essential elements of the national ecology – the sea, sun, stone, and earth.
The environmental qualities of the SNFCC are crucial to the design with a mission to create an environmentally friendly and sustainable facility. The initial LEED report provides confirmation for achieving a Platinum Level Certification.
